The below photo's are a photo journal for my website visitors to enjoy.  I have been fortunate to have been able to travel from time to time and with each trip, I photograph turfgrass conditions that I encounter.  I will continue this forum and add to the photo's (and of course soil profile samples) as I continue to travel from place to place.

In January, I received a call from John Mack, Assistant Superintendent at Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation, FL asking me if I wanted a picture for the "John Mascaro's Photo Quiz" in Golf Course Management Magazine. It seems that a food delivery truck forgot to set its parking break when they went into the clubhouse asking for directions to the loading dock. This quiz ran April 2005. 2005 also brought SuperBowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida at Alltel Stadium. I went to Jacksonville to see the field a week before the game. This is a photograph of the SuperBowl field.

George Toma also assembles an all star cast of Sports Turf Managers and Assistant throughout the entire NFL to assist him in getting the field ready for game day. This is the field being painted for SuperBowl XXXIX at Alltel Stadium, Jacksonville, Florida. Brain Johnson, AZ, Sho from Japan, Abby McNeil from Denver and Terry Porch, from Tennessee painting the field.

In February the Golf Industry Show was in Orlando, Florida. The show was unbelievably big and very well attended. The show floor was so large that they had a Golf driving range and even built a full size USGA green in the center of the show floor.
