September - December 2002

The below photo's are a photo journal for my website visitors to enjoy.  I have been fortunate to have been able to travel from time to time and with each trip, I photograph turfgrass conditions that I encounter.  I will continue this forum and add to the photo's (and of course soil profile samples) as I continue to travel from place to place.

September 2002, Florida Turfgrass Show in Tampa, Florida. I led a tour of the Yankees "Legends Field". The spring training facility and stadium for the Yankees. Jamie Boyton of One Source Management and Richie Andrews, Sports Turf Manager. September 2002, FTGA Show in Tampa, FL. Yankees Legends Field, Richie Andrews, Sports Turf Manager. September 2002, Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The center of the field has the artificial turf fibers interwoven into the turfgrass and buried from two inches to four inches deep to maintain footing. Raymond James Stadium, the area outside the hash marks are sand construction without the reinforced fibers. The field is usually re-built once a year. The sample was taken with the Mascaro Profile Sampler.
